Pens
Having a lifelong adoration for writing and drawing instruments, I wanted to design some of my own using the algorithmic design patterns and 3D printing processes I have grown accustomed to. These pens are designed to be affordable fully 3D printed products, shifting ‘rapid prototyping’ into ‘rapid manufacturing’.
Sprung Pen
A fully 3D printed product, this pen is made from durable nylon and has a replaceable SpacePen cartridge. The pens are coated with a grippy polymer for bright colors and comfortable grip. The cartridge slides in from the back end of the pen, and tension-locks in place.
Packaging was developed for the Design Boom market at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC in 2012, where this product was sold alongside several other 3D printed designs. Writeup on Coolhunting.com and Designmilk.com
Torpedo Pen
A fully 3D printed product, this pen is made from durable nylon and has a replaceable Montblanc cartridge. It is designed with a lightweight open structure and comfortable grip. The unique cap nestles into the hexagonal cell pattern.
Packaging was developed for the Design Boom market at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, where this product was sold alongside several other 3D printed designs.
